I have the same question as Zitto. But it actually isnt about maxis’s broadband. What about celcom’s bb? Does it have the 1Mbps speed as streamyx but wireless instead? Cz i really wanna play WoW but my campus blocks it. DAMN!!!

btw, how was the average connection speed? 1-2mb? i expect u’d get less than the advertised 3.6mbps rite?

well, i dont think that i can tolerate with maxis even if i’m juz connected. juz imagine this, can’t fully utilise that modem for a month but still have to pay for it? oh thank god celcom doesnt treat me like that. since i’m using celcom broadband on my laptop via datacard, i couldn’t ask for more. it’s more stable, not bulky, cheap (mind you rm68/month), no contract (can cancel subscription anytime) and the best part is the 3g coverage is available at all 14 state (at least in the main town). at least ‘taste’ celcom 3g then compare it urself, then choose which suits you. Results may vary.

@sanji – I’ve heard of Penangfon but I live in KL though.

@zitto – It depends on the connectivity. I don’t play online games but I use video call on MSN Messenger. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, in short the connectivity is rather unstable but at least you are connected right?

#odd – have u ever heard penangfon?i heard dat they offer 2Mbps for rm68/month.the coverage area is around PENANG ONLY.mind to give them a chance?

#odd – i’m a student in gombak.i have experienced both maxis n celcom bb.i suggest u to use celcom bb.d speed was very good n very stable.i managed to get d max 384kbps for rm68/month.no activation fee.u pay for what u get only.no 12- or 18-month contract.no 3Gb limitation on ur downloads.except celcom’s modem is expensive.i suggest u to check on this site http://www.3gcard.myceloteh.com because the price of d modem is much much cheaper than celcom.

but first,u should give a call to celcom care line.dial 1111 from any celcom number n ask for the coverage in ur area.

i still got concious with maxis broadband.i am a student in penang,so i am so calculative to spend my money for everything,if i found that the services are worst for me,what should i do?please give me an advice and not to convince me go and give a try the services at the first place or later i will get regret

Part of me is eager to subscribe to a 3G service. But then thinking of the issues and problems that might arise later on, it seems still some distance away. Having enough problems with Streamyx already.
